Contact glow discharge electrolysis is a novel type of electrochemical process. The degradation of Fuchsin acid in aqueous solution by contact glow discharge electrolysis is investigated. Some influence factors such as initial concentration, initial PH and the catalysts are examined. The results indicate that the weak acid condition is beneficial to degradation, and the catalyst can speed up the degradation obviously. In the presence of Fe2+ and Mn2+,the ratios of degradation are 87.35% and 89.57% respectively.
