【Objective】 To observe the clinical efficacy of bundled in severe sepsis and septic shock.【Methods】 A total of 41 patients admitted to the intensive unit(ICU) from January 2006 to December 2008 with severe sepsis and septic shock were assigned into early bundled care treatment group, given 6~24 hours bundled including early-goal-directed therapy, intravenous antibiotics within the first hour of recognized severe sepsis and septic shock, steroids, strict glucose control, control plateau pressure, sedation and analgesia according to Surviving Sepsis Campaign Guidelines for Management of Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock.Another group of 41 patients admitted to the intensive unit from January 2004 to December 2005 with severe sepsis and septic shock received traditional empirical treatment were assigned into the control group.【Results】 Among the 41 cases of bundled treatment group 35 cases reached goal with compliance rate of 85.36%,11 cases died in 28 days with the mortality of 26.83%.Among the 41 patients in control group 18 cases reached goal with the compliance rate of 43.90%,21 cases died in 28 days with the mortality of 51.22%.There were significant differences in patients' compliance rate and mortality between treatment group and control group(P 0.05).【Conclusion】 Early bundled for severe sepsis and septic shock can significantly improve survival rates and reduce mortality.
