This chapter reviews the applications addressed by organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices, by using a historical perspective, to illustrate how the scientific, technological and industrial improvements progressively provided to propose more of sophisticated products. The first generation of OLED displays on the market was passive-matrix type. Then, small-size active-matrix OLED displays appeared. Later, there has been a continuous increase of resolution and size. This trend is expected to continue, along with new features such as transparency and flexibility. Resolution limitation inherent to the passive addressing of PMOLEDs will limit its expansion as classical-type displays. However, one of the great features of OLED displays is that they can be made transparent and flexible. In active-matrix OLEDs, each pixel is connected to a transistor which is used as a switch.
