摘要
In the last few years, terrorism-related incidents were not given due importance, especially after the US withdrew from Afghanistan. The Taliban takeover in Afghanistan provided a breeding ground for these groups. At the start of 2024, several such attacks were perpetrated by ISI-Khorasan and other militant groups in their primary area of operation, i.e., Asia. This has refreshed the debate on the Impact of transnational terrorism on the relations of the states. Tensions are high with cross-border attacks from both sides in states like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran as they blame each other that the militant groups from the neighboring states have targeted them. Therefore, this qualitative study explores and describes the effects of surging terrorism on the relations of the states in contemporary times, especially in the South and Central Asian regions. This research will analyze security clusters and dynamics using the regional security complex model. The findings show the impact of terrorism as a dominant factor in shaping the relations among states.
