摘要
This article examines the pivotal role of optical interconnects in scaling up next-generation AI systems, highlighting technologies such as Pluggable Optics, Linear Pluggable Optics (LPO), Linear Receive Optics (LRO), Near-Packaged Optics (NPO), Co-Packaged Optics (CPO), Co-Packaged Copper (CPC), Optical Circuit Switches (OCS), and silicon photonics. These innovations overcome the limitations of traditional copper solutions by providing superior bandwidth, reduced latency, and enhanced energy efficiency. The article discusses how these optical technologies enable efficient data transfer and system scalability, essential for meeting the increasing demands of AI workloads, and emphasizes their impact on performance and cost-effectiveness in advancing AI infrastructure.
