The present article focuses on the act of the teacher which is directed to promote among the pupils positive social behaviour; in other words, it describes what the teacher can intentionally accomplish in order to develop in growing persons the habit of establishing with others adequate relationships. The article is structured in four parts. The first aims at determining the type of inter-subjectivity that one intends to promote and to present those positive social behaviours that could find expression in the scholastic field. The second considers some of the important reasons that confirm the necessity of favouring, in different educative contexts, and particularly in the school, adequate social behaviour. The third examines the chief obstacles which are still present in the scholastic educative context, that could impede or at least delay the programming of interventions directed to the development of social behaviour. Finally, the fourth part organizes systematically the interventions which the teacher could implement in order to promote in the pupils positive interpersonal habits.
