Microstructure, defects, and sodium transport in sodium beta-alumina solid electrolytes

In this paper t some imperfections are discussed, including point defects, non-stoichiometry due to Na 2 0 loss, planar defects and grain boundaries.Their relationship to fast ion transport is indicated.For most cases studied to date, only qualitative relationships between defects and ionic conductivity can be given.
