摘要
ABSTRACT Plasma seed treatment has become a well‐established technique for seed pretreatment. This study investigates the influence of treatment time, applied voltage and other parameters upon seed germination rate, as well as the effect of plasma treatment on water absorption of seeds. To elucidate the mechanisms underlying plasma action on seeds, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), and X‐ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) were employed to characterize the physical and biochemical properties of the seeds before and after treatment. The results reveal that plasma treatment can significantly increase the seed germination rate. Furthermore, the results of this study provide a valuable understanding of the interactions of plasma with the surface of tomato seeds, suggesting promising applications for large‐scale agricultural practices.
