Study on Irritability of Shampoo Cosmetics

Objective To study the irritability of shampoo cosmetics to skin and mucous membrane. Method The irritabilities of 3 kinds of shampoo cosmetics were examined by acute skin irritation test, eye irritation test and mutiple_time skin irritation test according to the Procedures and Methods of Safty Evaluation for Cosmetics of National Standard. Results Tested 3 kinds of shampoo cosmetics showed no irritability to rabbits in one_time skin irritation test with skin_irritation scores of zero. In acute eye irritation test, the shampoo cosmetics with simple function of cleaning hair showed no irritability, but the shampoo cosmetics with multiple functions such as antipruritus and triad effectiveness showed slight irritabibity. Thickened and hardened skin were observed in the tested locations of rabbits'skin treated by any one of tested 3 kinds of shampoo cosmetics in multiple_time skin irritation test.Conclusion The shampoo cosmetics must be kept away from eyes, and must be cleaned away from the surface of skin completely after use.
