Objective To observe the clinical effects of selective mild hypothermia(MHT)treatment on patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage(HIH).Methods 66 cases with HIH were randomly divided into selective MHT treatment group(36 cases)and control group(30 cases).Routine treatment was used in two groups,and selective MHT treatment(electric-icing cap)were used in selective MHT treatment group.The volumes of hematoma and perihematoma edema measured by CT and the neurological deficiency score(NDS)were assessed separately.Results The volume of hematoma and the volume of perihematoma edema and NDS between two groups has no difference seven days after administration.14 days after administration,the volume of hematoma from the selective MHT treatment(20.54±16.41)ml had no difference compared with the control group(22.26±13.2)ml(P0.05);while the volume of perihematoma edema was significantly smaller than the control group(P0.01),and the NDS of the selective MHT treatment group(20.15±10.02)ml score was reduced significantly(P0.01)compared with the control group(26.18±11.26)score.Conclusion The selective MHT treatment can reduce the perihematoma edema,recovering the neurological function in the patients with HIH.
