Expression of Substance P in Epidermis of Lichen Planus

Objective To examine substance P(SP) in lichen planus lesions,and investigate its function in pathogenesis of lichen planus(LP).Methods Use immunohistochemical technique to examine the expression of SP in lesions of 30 LP patients and 30 normal skins.Results SP was distributed in epidermis of lichen planus.The expression of SP in normal skins were mainly stained in basal cell layer.Compared with the normal skins,the expression level of SP in lesions of lichen planus was significantly higher(P0.05).Conclusion SP might play a certain role in the pathogenesis and development of lichen planus.
