Progress of Research on Regional Military Cultural Landscape

The study on the regional military culture and related landscapes is an important part of cultural geography research. By using the research on regional cultural geography for reference, the concept of regional military culture is explained in this paper. It's considered that the study of regional military landscape should be characterized by localism, historicness, systematicness and subject-crossing. The study object of the should be the relevant military geographical phenomena, including tangible cultural landscapes, such as historical military sites and military memento, and intangible ones such as correlative place name with regional military, military talents, military language, military literature, military customs attitude toward war and military thoughts. By the study on the spatial distribution of regional military landscape, the regional origin and rules of development and evolution of military culture are discussed, as well as its integration with modern culture.
