Virulent genes of Shigella from Lanzhou city

Objective To investigate the virulent genes of Shigella spp separated from the patients from Lanzhou city.Methods Shigella spp was separated from the patients by general methods. The virulent genes of set1A,set1B,sen,ipaH,ial and virA of Shigella spp were detected by PCR. Results The virulent genes of virA and set1A were detected in all Shigella strains.The positive rates of ipaH,ial and sen genes were 93.7%,56.2%and 62.5%,respectively.The positive rate of set1B was 25%and it was only detected in some Shigella flexneri strains.Conclusion There are differences in the virulent genes of Shigella spp separated from the patients from Lanzhou city. VirA,set1A and ipaH present stably in Shigella strains from Lanzhou city and can be used as target genes to detect Shigella.Set1B can be used to screen the typeⅣstrain of Shigella flexneri.
