Abstract An improved procedure is described for extremely rapid and efficient oxidation of alcohols, by adding a small quantity of anhydrous acetic acid (AcOH) to pyridinium dichromate (PDC) and freshly activated molecular sieve powder in CH2Cl2 at room temperature.
