Study on Cytoplasmic Effects of Main Quality Characters of Male Sterile Cytoplasm from Jinhuatai Radish

[Objective] The aim was to study the cytoplasmic effects of the male sterile cytoplasm from radish.[Method] The sterile line and restorer line were collocated to A line hybrid and the maintainer line and restorer line were collocated to B line hybrid.Their main quality characters were detected and the sterile cytoplasmic effects were determined according to the difference between them.[Result] There was an extremely significant difference on the characters of piquancy between sterile cytoplasm and fertile cytoplasm.The cytoplasmic effect originated from the interaction between the cytoplasm and karyoplasm.Except the characters of cellulose and piquancy,other quality characters of the sterile cytoplasm of Jinhuatai radish showed negative effect,and among them,Vc showed stronger negative effect.The disadvantageous effect of the sterile cytoplasm could decrease through the interaction effect between the sterile cytoplasm and the restorer line.[Conclusion] The research provided a certain theoretical basis for the correct evaluation and rational utilization for the male sterile cytoplasm from radish.
