Gold and silver nanoparticles stabilized by citrate were prepared and self-assembled on a glassy carbon electrode.The electrochemical signals of hydroquinone on gold and silver nanoparticles modified glassy carbon electrodes were studied in neutral PBS solutions respectively.The results show that gold and silver nanoparticles exhibit excellent catalytic effects on electrochemical reactions of hydroquinone.Compared with silver nanoparticles modified electrode,gold nanoparticles modified electrode show good stability.The electrochemical reactions of hydroquinone on gold nanoparticles modified glassy carbon electrode are controlled by diffusion process.
