Progress on safety management of chemical process

Chemical process industry was a high risk industry with characteristics of high flammability and explosibihty,high tempera- ture and pressure,and high toxicity and harm to health.Accidents were liable to occur with severe consequences.Safety should always come first in the chemical process industry.Safety management was the most important part for the safety of chemical plants.Safety management regulations of different levels of government and related petrochemical companies were presented.Key elements of process safety management (PSM) were discussed.The evaluation methods of safety management were summarized.Safety management could effectively prevent escalation of accidents and reduce the loss of properties and lives resulted from accidents.
