As recently as 1932 Cushing advocated decompression as the only surgical procedure for these lesions.1Surgical results remained poor1, 2until the introduction of the antituberculous chemotherapeutic agents, streptomycin andp-aminosalicylic acid (PAS) to combat and prevent the complicating meningitis. With the addition of isoniazid to the therapeutic armamentarium, another potent agent is now available. Because of these advances, the previous pessimistic attitude toward surgical...Bibliography1.
