Comparative Study on the English Translations of “Chun Ye Xi Yu” from the Perspective of Chesterman’s Translation Ethics

Fu Du, whose poetry is very famous in China and all over the world, is one of the greatest poets in ancient China. Chesterman's translation ethics is a relatively mature theory about translation ethics, which has four models of both the micro and macro levels. Based on Chesterman's translation ethics, seven English versions of one of Du's most representative poems "春夜喜雨", are analyzed, with a detailed discussion of ethics of representation, ethics of service, ethics of communication and norm-based ethics in different versions. This research may widen the study of the translation of Du's poetry to a certain extent and may also provide a new scope of research forChesterman's translation ethics.In addition, the study of Chinese poetry translation is conducive to carry forward the excellent Chinese traditional culture, and speed up the going out of Chinese culture.
