In this study, the effect of the Ag content on the structure and properties of the poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)/poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) composite conducting fiber was systematically investigated. The PEDOT:PSS/PVA/Ag composite conductive fiber was successfully prepared via a wet spinning technique. By analyzing the changes to the surface morphology, electrical conductivity, and mechanical properties of the fibers, the influence of Ag on the structure and properties of the PEDOT:PSS/PVA hybrid fibers were studied. With the addition of Ag particles to the composite fiber, the surface resistance of the fiber decreased to 1850 Ω, and the surface morphology of the composite fiber formed a regular circular one. The tensile strength of the composite fiber reached 40 MPa and the elongation at break reached 44.4%. Additionally, the thermal stability of the composite fiber increased with Ag loading.
