A field experiment was conducted during kharif season to study the efficacy of herbicides or weed control compared with mechanical methods. The pooled results revealed that significantly higher dry pod yield and monetary returns were obtained from weed free check as compared to other treatments except integrated weed management and mechanical method of weed control i.e. two hand weeding (15 and 30 DAS) + one hoeing (35 CAS) However. application of herbicides alone did not control the weeds effectively. The pre-emergence application of pendimethalin @0.75 kg a.i./ha . + one hand weeding (15 DAS) + one hoeing (30 UAS) gave highest B:C ratio.
