The paper aims to investigate the English listening comprehension strategies employed by both college-level teachers and students. The following research questions lead the study: (1) What listening strategies do students believe they use most frequently?, and (2) What listening strategies do teachers believe they use most frequently in their teaching? A total of 515 students and 10 teachers participated in this study. They completed the English Listening Comprehension Strategies Questionnaire containing 26 statements divided into three parts which are pre-listening, while listening, and post listening. The data were keyed into the computer to summarize the subjects' responses to the questionnaires and to find out the similarities and differences between the students' and the teachers' listening comprehension strategies. The results of the study show that there are only four items from the ten most frequent listening strategies shared by these two groups.
