Health risk assessment of heavy metals in street dust collected from industrial areas,heavy-traffic and low-traffic density areas, commercial areas and residential districts of Baoji City was carried out by using US EPA Health Risk Assessment Model. The results showed that the mean concentrations of As,Hg,Pb,Cu,Zn,Cr,Co,Ni,Mn and V were all higher than Shaanxi soil background values.Among the analyzed heavy metals, the mean concentrations of Hg and Pb were 37 and 20 times higher than the background values, respectively. The health risk assessment results showed that the non-cancer hazard of 10 heavy metals to children was higher than to adults. However, the risk of exposure for children and adults was the same, that was, ingestiondermal touchinhalation. The four carcinogenic metals Cr,Ni,As and Co had not formed carcinogenic risk, but their latent hazardous should be attended.
