Objective: To investigate the changes of clinical status around dental implants with different soft tissue thickness during the half a year after rehabilitation and to analyze the effect of soft tissue thickness on peri-implant inflammation. Methods: Before the fixing of abutment of dental implants, we measured the soft tissue thickness of 30 Frialit-2 dental implants and divided them into three groups as follow:GH≤2mm; 2mmGH≤4mm; GH4mm; ten natural teeth as control. Results: Examination was completed within half a year after rehabilitation. Results of probing depth (PD) and bone loss around dental implants(BL), modification sulcus bleeding index, promotion of spirochetes in subgingival plaque(S%) in the group GH4mm had significant difference with the other groups (P0.05). Conclusion: Hypertrophic soft tissue around the dental implants may increase the risk of peri-implant mucositis.
