Trust in artificial intelligence in agriculture

The study indicates how technologies based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) are perceived in the conditions of agricultural activity in Poland. The aim of the research was to identify the level of trust in technologies based on AI in the conditions of agricultural activity in Poland. Technologies using AI are perceived as the future of agriculture and a chance to steer towards sustainable development, but they still arouse distrust. Only 30% of survey respondents showed confidence in AI. However, individual types of technologies were mostly considered useful, and the greatest trust was aroused by those that were known to farmers in connection with their field of activity. An opportunity to increase the tendency to adapt AI technology in agriculture may be to recognize socio-cultural barriers to trusting AI and to disseminate knowledge about how it works.
