The equimolar CoNiFeMnCr high entropy alloy (usually called Cantor's) alloy was elaborated by foundry to investigate its properties at high temperature. In the present chemical state, at 1000°C and beyond, it is mechanically weak and oxidizes very quickly. A series of modifications, chemical (decrease in Cr, increase in Cr, Ti addition, Ta addition) and microstructural (formation of interdendritic eutectic HfC or TaC carbides with a script-like morphology), were applied and significant improvements in creep resistance and in oxidation kinetic were obtained.
