摘要
ABSTRACT Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are now a promising kind of material for lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), because they are very porous, their chemistry can be changed, and their structures may be used in many different ways. In recent years, researchers have looked at using MOFs and their derivatives, like metal oxides, sulfides, carbons, and polymer composites, as electrode materials more and more. These systems created from MOFs often solve the primary difficulties with normal electrodes, such as low conductivity, significant variations in volume, and short cycle life. This study talks about the most recent advances in MOF‐based materials for LIBs. It focuses on how synthetic methods like carbonization, sulfurization, and polymer hybridization might change the structure and performance of these materials. The contributions of hierarchical porosity, nanostructure design, and synergistic metal–carbon interactions to increased lithium storage capacity, rate performance, and cycling stability are highlighted in particular. Lastly, we go over the main difficulties still facing MOF‐based electrodes and offer our opinions on how they might be developed for real‐world use in next‐generation energy retention systems.
