Class I, II or III malocclusions may present with vertical problems such as deep bite or open bite. The deep bite in permanent dentition can be corrected by extrusion of posterior teeth or intrusion of anterior teeth, this decision is made according to radiographic analysis, facial and evaluating the smile. If a case of a deep bite with a gingival smile occurs due to an over-eruption of the upper incisor, it should be corrected with an anterosuperior intrusion. In other patients, if the deep bite is due to a pronounced Spee Curve and anterior extrusion, the indicated treatment will be the intrusion of lower anterior teeth.
