Research Progress of Ceramic/Metal Composite Armor Against Ballistic Penetration

The researches of ceramic/metal composite armor against armor penetration were summarized and analyzed in this paper.The impacts of different conditions to ballistic performance of ceramic/metal composite armor were introduced in detail.These effects include the materials of the ceramic,the relative thickness of panel ceramic and backup material,the interlayer,and the constraint forces of panel ceramic.At last,the deficiency of experimental study in ceramic/metal composite armor were provided,which could give reference to studying the armor penetration of ceramic/metal composite armor.
