Effect of Qilongtian Decoction on MPAP,wW, RV/LV + S of Pulmonary Artery Hypertension Rats

Objective: To investigate the effect of Qilongtian Decoction on the mean pulmonary arterial pressure(mPAP),the weight of wet lung(wW) and the right ventricular hypertrophy index(RV / LV + S) in pulmonary artery hypertension(PAH) rats.Methods: The PAH model in male SD rats was induced by intraperitoneal injection of monocrotaline(MCT).Nitro-pyridine was used as active control.Parameters of pulmonary hemodynamics were de-tected by improved right catheterization.The wW was weighted to calculate the RV / LV + S.Results: mPAP,wW,RV / LV + S were decreased by the Qilongtian Decoction and the Nitro-pyridine.Indices in the middle dose group and the high dose group were superior to those of the active control group.Conclusion: The pulmonary artery pressure and the lung exudation could be decreased by the Qilongtian Decoction.Meanwhile,the right ventricular hypertrophy may be reversed by it.
