Microspheres containing β-CD(EPI-β-CD) were prepared by inverse emulsion polymerization using epichlorohydrin(EPI) as crosslinker, and then, the butanedioyl microspheres containing β-CD(SUC-EPI-β-CD) were synthesized by acylation using succinic anhydride as acylating agent. The structure and morphology of the microspheres were characterized using infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and laser particle size analyzer. The adsorption of the microspheres was studied using methylene blue(MB) and methyl orange dye as model moleculars. The results indicated that adsorption capacity of(EPI-β-CD) microspheres to MB were higher than MO due to the difference of interaction force between β-CD and two dyes; The adsorption isotherm data for MB were well correlated with Freundlich adsorption isotherm equations and possessed higher adsorption capacity. In addition, the adsorption capacity of microspheres(SUC-EPI-β-CD) showed obviously pH sensitivity.
