Squamous-Cell Carcinoma of Ampulla of Vater: Case Report and Review of the Literature

A malignant neoplasm located in the ampulla of Vater is not a frequent pathological finding.Such neoplasms are characterized by obstructive jaundice and are detected early.Hence they are small in size, and there are usually no metastases.Malignancy in this region is of a glandular type except for; (1) a few cases of adenosquamous carcinoma, and (2) more rarely cases of the squamous cell type, which usually are well differentiated.
