Objective To investigate the expression of drug resistance-related genes including p53,bcl-2,P-glycoprotein(P-gp),glutathione-S-transferase-π(GST-π)and DNA topoisomeraseⅡ(TopoⅡ)and their clinical significance in diffuse large B cell lymphomas(DLBCL).Methods Tissue samples from 34 DLBCL patients were immunohistochemically stained for p53,bcl-2,P-gp,GST-π and TopoⅡ.Results The positive expression rate of p53,bcl-2,P-gp,GST-π and TopoⅡin DLBCL was 32.4%,47.0%,25.2%,52.9% and 64.7% respectively.Patients with positive expression of p53,bcl-2,P-gp and GST-π had lower efficacy to chemotherapy and shorter overall survival at 3 years than patients with negative expression. However, the patients with positive expression of TopoⅡhad higher efficacy, but shorter overall survival at 3 years than the patients with negative expression. Conclusion The expressions of p53,bcl-2,P-gp,GST-π and TopoⅡcan be used as predictors of chemotherapeutic efficacy and survival of DLBCL patients, and provide guidance for individual therapy for DLBCL patients.
