A core-shell acrylic emulsion was synthesized,with methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate as core monomer,and ethylhexyl acrylate,acrylic acid and butyl methacrylate as shell monomer.The influence of hydroxypropyl acrylate on emulsion properties showed that film would have a good application when the mass fraction of hydroxypropyl acrylate was less than 1.5%.The influence of core’s glass transition temperature and the weight ratio of core/shell layer on mechanical properties were discussed.The results showed that emulsion had the excellent mechanical properties when the core’s glass transition temperature was 45℃ and the mass ratio of core/shell layer was 40∶60.The emulsion achieves the application requirements of coatings.
