The annealed 1060 pure aluminum was processed by accumulative roll bonding (ARB) for 7 passes at room temperature. The evolution of microstructure was observed by TEM and the tensile strength and microhardness were tested by the tensile test and microhardness test. The results show that, after several passes rolling, the grains are refined due to the accumulative strain and multiplied energy in the material. After 7 passes rolling, the ultra-fine grains increase and the finest grain can reach 500 nm. Meanwhile, the tensile strength and microhardness increase significantly, which are 197.5 MPa and 66.2 HV respectively.
