Elephantgrass.

This chapter focuses on elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum). Further the chapter discusses it origin, distribution and ecology; provides its botanical description and cultivation; explores its uses and genetics and breeding; and examines its invasiveness. The chapter concludes that elephant grass is a fast-growing and high biomass producing cellulosic source and thus a choice candidate for biofuel feedstock.
