Based on a systemic review on prognosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from English-language journals between January 1988 and March 2005 that were identified from three databases: MEDLINE,HIGHWIRE,and CURRENT CONTENTS,diagnostic criteria and pathology of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome were introduced, and the effects of treatments were compared. Results of this study indicated that exercise prescription can substantially improve measures of fatigue and physical functioning for people with chronic fatigue syndrome, and a graded exercise program can reduce levels of fatigue and associated symptoms, thereby increasing levels of activity and improving the quality of life.Adverse effects of exercise were not reported in either trial, and we found no evidence that exercise is harmful in people with chronic fatigue syndrome.
