Comparative study of prevention and treatment of radix salviae miltiorrhiae and dendrobium compound on diabetic mice

Objective: To investigate the prevention and treatment effects of radix salviae miltiorrhiae in clinical dose or dendrobium compound in half dose on diabetic mouse model,and observe the synergistic effect of traditional Chinese medicine compound.Methods: Diabetic mouse models were established by intraperitoneal injection with ALX(200mg/kg)one time,then the contents of BS,TG,and GSP were measured,and the pancreatic glands were made into pathological sections to observe the pathological change of pancreatic islet.Results: The effect of Radix salviae miltiorrhiae to prevent DM and reduce fasting blood glucose is better than that of dendrobium compound;however,comprehensive effect of dendrobium compound on decreasing mortality,stabilizing blood glucose levels,and regulating lipid metabolism is superior to that of Radix salviae miltiorrhiae.Conclusion: These results suggest that each single drug of dendrobium compound has synergistic effect on the prevention and treatment to DM mouse.
