Formation of a thermally stable bilayer of coadsorbed intact and deprotonated thymine exploiting the surface corrugation of rutile TiO2(110)

Adsorption of thymine on rutile TiO₂(110) leads to a room temperature stable bilayer which follows the corrugation of the oxide surface and consists of both intact and deprotonated molecules.
