The measurement of 14CO2 activity inside Geiger-Müller counting tubes

A method is described for the measurement of the relative activity of C/ sup 14/ as carbon dioxide in GM internal gas counting tubes, either with a mixture of argon and ethylene or with ethylene alone. The equipment permits reproducible measurements of a relative specific acitivity of carbon dioxide with a maximum total error of less than hr at 1500 deg 1.8% with a standard deviation of counting less than hr at 1500 deg 0.5%.
