Study on Effect of Urban Heat Island and Its Relationship with Urbanization: A Review

Urbanization can be stated as migration of mankind from rural areas to city areas. This ultimately affects quality of environment and life standard in city region. This transformation leads to more impervious infrastructure development. The change in climate of city resulting from impervious infrastructure results in to a climate condition namely “Urban Heat Island”. Any city region categorized by high temperature and humid environment suffers the most due to Urban Heat Island. Hence, urban climate study become requisite to improve thermal comfort outdoors. Aim of the paper is to carry out study on Urban Heat Island through various literature review and to find impact of Urban Heat Island on the Urban area. To identify the Urban Heat Island intensity, the study is being performed by evaluating difference between temperature of urban area and rural area in defined study area.
