The Current Status of Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) is curative treatment for early gastrointestinal neoplasia, and this procedure does not involve open surgery. Significant advances of the techniques and instruments for ESD have been made and many medical institutes have the facilities to perform ESD. This article reviews the current status of ESD in Korea.
