Synthesis and application of silicone modified acrylate

Silicone acrylate emulsion was prepared from octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane,methyl methacrylate,butyl acrylate and acrylic acid by the method of pre-emulsification and continuous titration.The effect of types of emulsifier and emulsifier ratio on the silicone emulsion were discussed.The result showed that using AEO-3,AEO-7,AEO-9 and SDBS to prepare emulsion when the mass ratio of SDBS to AEO was 1 ∶1.82,the stability of emulsion is good.Furthermore,to get acrylate monomer ratio,the glass temperature(theoretical value)of acrylate resin was computed by Fox equation.Properties of silicone modified acrylate were discussed and analyzed at the end of this article,the result showed that silicone modified acrylate had the best properties when Tg(theoretical value)=-10 ℃.
