Application of water culture on establishing explants in Vitro culture of Ziziphus jujuba Mill.

In order to prolong the period of explants collection in tissue culture,water culture was employed to wake up the dormant branches of Chinese jujube(Ziziphus.jujuba Mill.cv.Pozao).The optimal method of water culture was using one-year branch with diameter of 0.6～1.2 cm,cutting branches into 30～40cm in length,carrying out between December and April.This method is generally useful in tissue culture of Z.jujuba Mill.It breaks down the limitation of explant-collection period,which used to only be carried out in growing season.This method can prolong the explant-collection period greatly and provide much convenience to experimenters.
