Application and Study of Magnetic Bearing Flywheel Technology

Aimed at the insufficiency of ball bearing flywheel used in satellite, the merits of magnetic bearing flywheel were presented generally and the type of magnetic bearings was also defined. Firstly the state of the art of magnetic bearing flywheel as the actuator of the satellite attitude control system was summarized. The key technologies of magnetic bearing flywheel were analyzed. Then the adaptability of two axes control magnetic bearing flywheel in the satellite attitude control system was expounded in detail. The achievement and plan of magnetic bearing flywheel in our lab were presented. Finally the development of magnetic bearing flywheel in the future was discussed. Aimed at the practical demand of space technology, the study aspect of magnetic bearing flywheel which should be put emphasis on is proposed.
