The growing adoption of hydrogen as an environmentally friendly energy carrier underscores the critical importance of ensuring its safe handling, storage, and transportation. Against this backdrop, digital tools have emerged as indispensable resources for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating the risks inherent to hydrogen safety. This research delves into a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of various digital tools in tackling hydrogen-related hazards. From leak detection systems employing advanced sensors to real-time monitoring platforms with predictive capabilities, the study investigates the contribution of these tools in promptly identifying abnormalities, preventing accidents, and facilitating swift responses. Moreover, the integration of digital tools in risk assessment models, emergency response frameworks, and optimization algorithms, highlights their roles in enhancing safety protocols, refining operational efficiency, and promoting the prudent development of hydrogen infrastructure. Consequently, digital tools have offered a valuable means of monitoring and reporting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) concerns and compliance within hydrogen refueling stations. Through these tools, the presence of fire and explosion detection equipment, ventilation and air quality conditions, and emergency shutdown mechanisms can all be effectively tracked and managed. These systems are adept at generating immediate alerts and notifications whenever parameters veer away from safe operational standards.
