The Thomson Profile diagnostic is a multipoint Thomson Scattering diagnostic that measures the electron temperature and density along a cord through the Doublet III plasma. This system is designed to control, diagnose, acquire and analyze data for a Thomson Scattering Profile diagnostic. the computer is a LSI 11/23 based microprocessor using a CAMAC bit serial highway for control and diagnostics of the laser and camera with an image processor for data acquisition and analysis. The Thomson Profile diagnostic is connected with the Doublet III data acquisition computer through a CAMAC byte serial highway.
