A Novel Pre-Rotating Rotary Guardrail and its Effects on Guiding and Anti-Collision

Abstract In this paper, a novel pre-rotating guardrail is proposed to enhance the guiding and anti-collision capability of guardrail as the car hits in road accident. The new design sets up pre-rotating through leaf spring installed inside the rotary. The function of the proposed pre-rotating design is numerically studied by using LS-DYNA tool. The preliminary results are reported in the paper.
