Using the quickscan audit methodology as a precursor to a successful lean sigma implementation

Implementation of a Lean Sigma initiative in ten test bed companies has yielded favourable economic benefits in terms of quality improvement. As part of a regionally funded project to bring Lean Sigma to a wider audience of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), a guided learning approach has been adopted with ten manufacturing companies. Each company dedicated a project team to target an appropriate issue causing cost through poor quality. The teams were subsequently guided through the lean sigma process to solve the issue and progress toward a waste free process.
