The Research on Conceptual Metaphor in English Economic News

On the basis of the conceptual metaphor theory of Lakoff Johnson,this paper discusses the understanding of the target domain through a known source domain with perception,imagination and mapping in the concept of metaphor and analyzes the different vehicles of structural metaphor,orientational metaphor and ontological metaphor. With a large number of examples in English economic news discourse,it studies and analyzes metaphors in brief. It suggests using the metaphorical thinking to learn and understand English economic news,to understand the western culture and the differences between Chinese and Western culture,and to promote English education,learning and daily reading.
